Tasting
Notes
On the eye: Dark, rich
mahogany.
Breathe in: Sweet, stewed prunes, with oaky, barbeque smoke and
salted caramel.
Sip:
Spicy, rich fruit cake with smooth, dark chocolate, cherries and
maritime peat smoke.
Savour: Dark fruits and caramel toffee, with the distinctive
Bowmore smokiness. |

release in the Bowmore Distilleries The Distiller's Anthology annual
series.

The selection of first fill American Oak
ex-bourbon hogsheads, exceptionally matured for 25 years,
results in a whisky led by sweetness and fruit, but still very
much Bowmore in style.
Our distillation process is a constant in the creation of each
drop, producing a new make spirit which is the very bedrock of
our definitive character. When filled in the very best casks and
laid down to rest in our coastal warehouses, we allow this
spirit to thrive and become it’s own distinctive
Bowmore, calling on the classic
style but with it’s own unique story and character.
This whisky tells it’s own story through the aromas, flavour and
finish – as the perfect culmination of distillation and maturing
coming together.

Tasting
notes
This
rare Bowmore has sweet and nutty notes with grilled dates and
Islay moss. The whisky on tasting reveals spices, crème caramel
and crushed malt with a warm, spicy finish and lingering peat
smoke. |

exceptional single malt, bottled in 1997. It has been aged
in Bowmore’s famous No.1 Vaults – one of the oldest Scotch
maturation warehouses in the world – and perfectly showcases
the Islay distillery’s timeless signature house style.
This
rare Bowmore release has been full matured in a first fill
American Oak Hogshead cask, with the cask number printed on
the bottle label.

Tasting
Notes
Bottled in
1997 and with an ABV of 49.7%, the
expression showcases how flavour evolves over time to create the
whisky’s signature expressive style. The whisky has been full
matured in a first-fill American Oak Hogshead cask to ensure its
distinctive flavour.
Bowmore
1997 Single Cask offers notes of
sweet oranges, vanilla crème brûlée, coconut, toasted walnuts
and salted caramel on the nose, followed by charred orange rind,
fresh pineapple and soft fudge. The finish is described as sweet,
fruity and smooth. |

The 21 year old Château Lagrange is an
exceptional bottling which combines Islay’s
original single malt whisky with the flavours
of red wine-infused French oak to create a
distinguished dram. |

Like all Bowmore whiskies,
Bowmore 21 year
old
Château Lagrange has been handcrafted using
time-honoured techniques used by the distillery
since 1779. The malt is still hand-turned, day
and night, on the malting floor.
It is smoked over Bowmore’s peat fire, which is
personally tended by the malt man for 18 hours.
The distillery is home to the iconic maturation
warehouse, the No.1 Vaults, which have held
some of the world’s most coveted and
collectible Scotch whiskies to date.
It is aged for just over two decades and fully
matured in French Oak barriques sourced from
the renowned Château Lagrange, a Grand Cru
Classé winery in Bordeaux. This expression is
said to be perfectly balanced with undertones
of dark chocolate, spice, manuka honey and
light peat smoke. |
